Miguel Medero was born in Argentina and studied languages at university in South America, USA and Europe. He emigrated to Aotearoa in 2004 and made Kirikiriroa his home. He is now a New Zealand Citizen.

Miguel is a sporty person, from sailing to football, from tennis to flying gliders. He also gets actively involved helping The Pumas, the Argentine Rugby Team, every time they play in Hamilton.

He is a qualified translator and works for Decypher Interpreting and Translating. He completed Tikanga and Treaty training with Rauawaawa Kaumātua Trust and Tangata Tiriti at Hui Te Rangiora Marae in 2019. He has translated Te Tiriti resources into Portuguese and Spanish for all speakers of these languages in Aotearoa.
