Jawaid Pardehi was born in Pakistan, and studied a Bachelor of Engineering back in Pakistan.  Currently he is doing his Masters in Applied Social work from Massey University. He migrated to Aotearoa in 2015 with his family and is now a Team Leader at Hamilton Multicultural Services Trust, and a committee member with Tangata Tiriti.

Jawaid is an experienced translator. After attending Treaty training with Tangata Tiriti at Hui Te Rangiora marae in 2018, he translated Te Tiriti resources into his native language, Urdu. Urdu is spoken by many people in Aotearoa.
